Chipboard Covered in Scrapbook Paper

The bird shaped chipboard makes this project very quick; and if you can find a nest-like basket at a thrift store, it is also very cheap! 

The On Board Books come with EIGHT pages of chipboard for only $4.95, what a steal!  In addition to the Bird Book, there is also a Heart and a Scallop Circle Book and they all come with a key ball chain to hold the pages together. 

Don't want to create a mini book?  Use the chipboard pieces for projects like this or scrapbook embellishments.  The pieces measure around 6" to 8" and can be found in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

Chipboard can be stamped, painted, spritzed, distressed... the list is very long!  I have covered this with a pattern of the fabulous 12"x12" Designer Series Paper, also from the Occasions Mini, called Sweet Pea. 

And I had to tie a bit of Linen Thread in the Chocolate Chip Button Latte before adhering it with a Mini Glue Dot, I really don't like naked buttons! 

I think my son will enjoy eating his boiled eggs out of this, especially since we both wanted the basket when we saw it at the store!  Another great thing about shopping at a thrift store; we have to share and we buy less if there is only one of each item!

Nursery Alphabet Decor Elements

Aren't these Nursery Alphabet Decor Elements adorable?

The alphabet portion isn't shown here; each image also includes an upper and lower case letter corresponding to the image, for example the owl had Oo. 

I made these for my son and he only wanted the animals, he's already reading and doesn't need letters on his!

NOTE: LP frames are larger than scrapbook page frames; LP's measure approximately 12-1/2" instead of 12" x 12"  You can find both sizes of frames at craft stores.

To cover the excess area around the edges, I made an inner frame with Chocolate Chip card stock and the Scalloped Edge Border Punch.  It turned out even better with the scalloped border, I think!

First, clean and dry the glass in the frame.

I measured the animal image then marked the center and outline on the inside back piece of the frame with a pencil and ruler.

Put the frame together so you can see the pencil measurement marks through the glass.

Follow the directions that come with the Decor Elements using the Applicator Tool and peeling off the grid side slowly and carefully.

Apply the Decor Element to the front of the glass in the center, lining it up where you have marked.  This Lion is Pumpkin Pie.

Stamp coordinating images on a 12" x 12" piece of Designer Series Paper and adhere to the back piece of the frame. 

The Lion image from Fox and Friends stamp set was randomly stamped with So Saffron ink on a piece of polka dot paper from the Tall Tales Designer Series Paper.

Opposite of the Lion, the Kangaroo is So Saffron with Pumpkin Pie paper from the Pawsitively Prints Designer Series Paper.  Stamps of flowers and leaves are from the Holiday Blitz stamp set.

The Owl is in Chocolate with Tempting Turquoise paper from Pink Flamingo Designer Series Paper. Stamps are from the Fox and Friends and the Season of Friendship stamp sets.
